Fried Zucchini

Cooking time: 10 minutes
Serves: 4 to 5 persons


  • 2 zucchini (cut into thin slices like shown below)
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red chillis
  • 2 tbsp parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 2 bread slices for breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg (beaten with a fork)

Tip: For best results, use measuring utensils.
Note: 1 pinch is equal to 1/4 tsp.


  1. Sprinkle 1/4 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper on the zucchini slices.
  2. Make breadcrumbs using a chopper or whatever is available to you. Mix 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 black pepper, 1/4 tsp crushed red chillis and parmesan cheese in the breadcrumbs.
  3. One by one, coat all the slices with plain flour, beaten egg and then breadcrumbs.
  4. Take a karahi, add oil and put on medium to high heat. Once oil is properly heated, fry zucchini slices. Turn over when one side is golden brown (about 3 minutes).

Serve hot with chilli sauce or ranch!
